At Highland Park, church membership is very important to us. Church membership is an official statement of your faith in the Lord Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and only Savior. Church membership is also a formal record of your commitment to partner with the body of believers at Highland Park to stir one another up to love and good deeds, participate regularly in corporate worship, and engage the world around us with the gospel of Jesus Christ.
If you wish to join, you can come forward to speak with the pastor at the end of one of our Sunday morning corporate worship gatherings. The pastor will inform the church of your desire to join and will ask them to commit to pray for you as you pursue this interest. If you have not already done so, then one of our pastors will arrange to meet with you to hear you share about your faith in Christ, your experience of baptism, and your desire to join Highland Park. They will also answer any questions you may have. The formal acceptance of membership will then take place by a vote of the congregation at the next scheduled quarterly business meeting.
Once a quarter we offer a four-week class called HP Connect that is designed to give visitors a chance to get to know our pastor and the church. Coming to this class does not make you a member, but it does give you a great opportunity to get to know us if you’re thinking about joining or attending long-term.
If you have any further questions about becoming a member, please e-mail one of our pastors:
