Jay Wollmann has been at Highland Park since October 2011. Jay is a native of Louisville and grew up worshipping and serving at Highview Baptist Church. He was led to Christ by his father at the age of eight and then baptized in the sixth grade. He began to sense a calling to full-time ministry at a summer youth camp before he entered the 7th grade. After volunteering heavily in the Youth and Worship ministries at Highview in High School, he served part-time in the worship ministry staff from 2006-2011 when he was called as the Minister of Music at Highland Park. He was ordained to Gospel Ministry by Highland Park First Baptist Church in 2012. At Highland Park, he is responsible for planning the weekly worship services and leads all musical ensembles including the Worship Choir, Worship Band, Praise Team, Youth Praise Band, and Media Team. He is also is responsible for all technical and media needs of the church including the website and printed promotional materials. Jay has also been blessed to have the opportunity to teach and preach while at Highland Park, including two full expository sermon series through Galatians and James. His ministry priorities are seeing church members equipped to do ministry, seeing the church live out the calling to bear one another’s burdens, and making sure that the content of what is preached, sang, prayed, and read in the church’s worship is doctrinally strong. Jay is blessed to be married to Megan who serves along with him in many capacities. Megan and Jay have three children, Marcus, Peter, and Henry.
