Up and running this morning. We attended the service at Ntiya 2 Hope Baptist Church today. This is the church in the village where Stanley and Misozi grew up. Their mother is Chief of the village and she and several other family members attend here. It was a wonderful time! The singing was amazing and lots of fun. They harmonize wonderfully and dance and trill…all in praise to our God! Stella, a girl around 7 years old sat with me. She was shy at first but I could tell she was curious about me. By the end of the service she’d reset all my watch settings and thoroughly investigated my Bible. Made me feel like I was at home! (I do already miss my kiddos!) This church is in the process of searching for a new pastor so Pastor Ed preached from 1 Timothy 3 giving qualifications for pastor. At lunch Pastor Ed shared that he was wondering how God could move people to salvation through a sermon like this. God can work through His faithful servants and His word however He would like, though! Two people accepted Christ. Three others came for the first time and said that they would continue to attend. “For the word of the cross is folly to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.” I am so thankful for God’s word and for leaders who are willing to proclaim it allowing the Holy Spirit to work.

We had lunch after church then back to the compound for the afternoon. Many of us napped (still trying to catch up from our long flight). We relaxed and prepared for whatever God (and Ovi) have for us tomorrow. Can’t wait!
